Because there are so many exciting things going on at the Dream Center, we've decided to keep you better informed by starting a blog. The Dream Center currently issues a monthly newsletter and posts pictures and short event descriptions on its very own Facebook page. Sometimes, though, there's more information we'd like to share with the public and our donors that doesn't fit anywhere else!
The blog isn't the only new feature of the Dream Center Evansville website. Check out the new Calendar page for information about upcoming events.
Is This a Good Time to Start a Dream Center Blog?
Absolutely! This is a great time to get the Dream Center blog rolling. Why? For one reason, we've just celebrated our 9th anniversary on July 7th. It's hard to believe Dream Center has been around almost a decade. We have a lot to celebrate! Here are just a few of the many blessings we've experienced over the last nine years:
The Dream Center has served 130,000 nutritious meals to youngsters.
Over 133,000 children have participated in Center field trips, Bible study, and free play time.
3,000 volunteers have donated their time to help with homework assignments, provide counsel, and be a friendly face to the young people who pass through our doors.
The Dream Center is renovating a second building next to the main activity building which will hold our administrative offices, as well as provide additional classroom space for our programs.
What's Next on the Horizon?
We have a lot of exciting events on our plate. On July 29th, from 4:00 to 7:30, we will hold our annual Dream Center University Graduation for students who attended our summer programming. Parents and family are invited to attend. Please let us know if you are coming! Drop by the Center and fill out an RSVP slip, or call so we can plan for attendance.
Of course with summer ending, that means our after school programming will be gearing up. Keep your eyes open for details about getting your children enrolled and participating.
Mondays and Thursdays - We pick up children from Delaware, Cedar Hall, and Evans elementary schools.
Tuesdays - Our van travels to Central High School and AIS.
Wednesdays - We provide transportation to the Dream Center after Cedar Hall Middle School lets out.
Stay tuned for the possibility of Friday programming as well. For a more detailed description of our after school offerings, visit the Our Programs page.
